As an empathetic, solution driven attorney, James prioritizes meeting each client where they are and ensuring that they feel supported every step of the way through their unique legal needs. His practice focuses primarily on family law, estate planning, probate, and business formation.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Villeneuve and DeGeer, PLLC in 2024, James was Counsel at the Maine State Housing Authority in Augusta.

James grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He then graduated from the University of Maine School of Law and was admitted to the practice of law in Maine in 2022.

Prior to practicing law, James cherished being a youth sailing coach in Scarborough and Kennebunkport for many years.

James is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the Lincoln County Bar Association.

James lives in Brunswick with his husband, Alex, and their golden retriever. He enjoys canoe trips, eating delicious food, road trips, hiking, skiing, and getting out on the water.
